Amoore Speaks on Diversity at Penn State University
Renee Amoore was a featured speaker on the campus of Penn State University in State College during a variety of forums focused on race relations, diversity and ethnicity. “The most significant aspect of my visit by far-and where I hope to have had the biggest impact- is talking to the students. They are our future community, political and religious leaders, doctors, teachers and businesspeople. Appreciating and understanding race is crucial to their future success in leading our society forward,” said Amoore.
During her visit, she spoke to groups including the Commission for Women, Commission on Racial/Ethic Diversity, Undergraduate Student Government, Interfraternity Council, and a Race and Ethnic Relations Sociology Class at the invitation of University President Graham Spanier and Dr. W. Terrell Jones, Vice Provost for Educational Equity.
